How training with Barkitects works
Step 1: Initial Consultation
Teenage and newly adopted dogs often start showing their true doggy colors as they get older and more confident. Problems like pulling on leash, door dashing, grabbing things, chewing, barking, jumping and mouthing appear causing havoc in your life!
At the 90 minute initial consultation, your top priorities are pinned down. Strategies will be covered to give you immediate relief and training started to build the skills you need. Long term training options that will best benefit you getting to your goals will be discussed. $225
Step 2: Pick your training option

For the busiest of pet parents! Short on time or bandwidth for training? For those already with a stacked calendar, Barkitects can do the heavy lifting for you. At the initial consult, you tell us what you need done, and your trainer takes it from there. Get the quick progress you need without sending your best friend away.
Barkitects visits your dog 3-5 times per week to set the foundation of all the skills you want them to have. Sessions will be at your home or out in public, depending on goals and readiness.
Then every 7-10 days, you meet the trainer and learn how to keep the new behaviors going for a lifetime of ease with your dog. You spend more time just enjoying the your best bud!
Pricing is based on length of program and days per week. A “3+1” 4 week program is $3050+tax. For more information, visit the Day School.

Lessons are in the convenience of your home or out in public (when appropriate). You and your dog are coached in building new skills & learning good manners. Not only will you get the obedience you want, but the relationship you dream of having with your dog!
All those annoying habits you’re dealing with? Gone. Those impressive skills you want your dog doing? Consider them taught. Get the safety skills (such as come and stay), impulse control (leave it and drop it) and good manners (no jumping, settling, no pulling on leash) that you dream of your dog having.

Day School is great for time-crunched and overwhelmed clients who aren’t ready to part with their canine companion for a few weeks but want to make fast progress.
One-on-One Lessons are great for dog owners who enjoy working with their dog learning new things.

Whatever is your priority! Problematic behaviors such as housetraining, door dashing, pulling on leash, jumping and mouthing on people, countersurfing, stealing items, digging, and other mild behavior problems or fears can all be addressed. (Aggression or significant fear issues would be addressed in a Behavior Help Consult.)
Training gets underway immediately building behaviors you want such as loose leash walking, stay, come, leave it and drop it, or anything else you’d like your dog to know. A management plan to give you immediate relief is put in place.

Day School goals will be tailored to your needs. At the Initial Consultation, a game plan will be developed and then you can let the trainer do the heavy lifting building the skills you want the dog to have. Instead of doing the step by step work, you’ll just learn how to keep up the good behavior! Way less work and time on you!

Lessons will be tailored to your needs. At the Initial Consultation, training plan will have been nailed down. Here is where you and your pup learn together about new skills, how to prevent the bad stuff and how to get your dog listening in all the places you want. Turn your dog into the well mannered companion you want!

Day School takes place 3-5 days per week of the trainer working just with the dog. Every 7-10 days, an owner transfer lesson is schedule to allow you to learn how to handle you dog and maintain all the progress.

One on one lessons are approximately 1 hour in length and weekly to biweekly.

At Barkitects, skills are trained through rewards and motivations and emotions changed through counter conditioning and desensitization. You will not find choke, prong, or e-collars in Barkitects’ program.

The Training Consultation cost is $225.
One-on-one Lessons are offered in packages to keep you on track making progress towards your goals. Packages are discounted from the hourly rate of $180/lesson + tax.
